BARTOLOMEO CESI

Protagonist of Bolognese figurative culture between the 16th and 17th centuries

The first monographic exhibition dedicated to Bartolomeo Cesi (Bologna, 1556 - 1629), open from November 22, 2025, to February 22, 2026, in the Lapidary of the Medieval Civic Museum of Bologna, offers a broad and well-documented overview of the figure of the Bolognese painter, active between the second half of the 16th century and the first decades of the 17th century.
The exhibition, "Bartolomeo Cesi (1556-1629). Painting of Silence in the Age of the Carracci," was curated by Vera Fortunati.
